I’m a church production director, and I help other churches get their Sunday tech working: audio, cameras, livestream, lighting, and the volunteer teams who run all of it.
Where churches usually get stuck
Most church tech problems aren’t about not having enough gear. They’re about systems that grew one purchase at a time and a team that’s stretched thin. The same issues come up again and again:
- The mix sounds great in the room but thin and flat on the livestream.
- The stream drops, lags, or goes out with nobody hosting the people watching from home.
- Only one person really knows how the system works, and Sunday falls apart when they’re out.
- Cameras hunt for focus in front of the LED wall, or the shots never quite feel right.
- Gear was bought piece by piece and doesn’t talk to each other.
What I help with
Audio & broadcast mix
Separate front-of-house and broadcast mixes, digital console setup, Dante networking, in-ear monitor mixes, and multitrack playback.
Livestream & online church
Multi-camera switching, streaming to YouTube, Facebook, and online church platforms at once, plus online hosts who actually engage the people watching.
Video, graphics & lighting
Camera placement and shot coverage, ProPresenter lyrics and lower thirds, lighting looks, and control surfaces that tie it all together.
Volunteer-proof workflows
Simplified setups, clear documentation, checklists, and training, so Sunday doesn’t depend on one person.
How it works
- Start with a conversation. What’s working, what isn’t, who’s on your team, and what you have to spend.
- See it in action. I visit a service or rehearsal, or review recordings, photos, and your signal flow remotely.
- Get a clear plan. A prioritized list of what to fix now, what to plan for later, and what you don’t need to buy.
- Follow through. I can help with configuration and volunteer training. Larger installs and system builds are handled through M28 Productions, the AV company I co-run.
Why work with me
I’m not a salesperson with a catalog. I run production for a church in Middle Tennessee every week, so I deal with the same consoles, cameras, livestream platforms, and volunteer schedules you do. I also write Behind Sunday, a weekly newsletter about what’s actually working (and what isn’t) behind the scenes at church.
Common questions
Do you only work with churches around Nashville?
I’m based in Middle Tennessee and can be on-site anywhere in the Nashville area. A lot of consulting works remotely too, using recordings, photos, and video calls, so location isn’t a dealbreaker.
Do we have to buy new equipment?
Not necessarily. Often the biggest improvements come from better routing, setup, and training on the gear you already own. When new equipment does make sense, I’ll tell you what to prioritize and what to skip.
Can you install the equipment, too?
Yes. Installs and bigger system builds go through M28 Productions, so you can work with the same people from planning through install.
What size churches do you work with?
The approach is the same whether you’re running one console with a small volunteer team or a full broadcast setup: make it reliable, make it sound and look good, and make it something your team can run.
Let’s talk about your church
Tell me a little about your setup and what’s not working. I’ll get back to you.
